The official annoucement

My oh-so-mysterious blog silence has earned me a few sidelong glances and tentative questions so I suppose I just better come out with it. Yup, I officially have a little one in my tummy.

As most of you know, my pregnancies are a little tough (tough enough to keep me from blogging!)...at least until I get to that first doctor's appointment and get nice and drugged up. We're all just crossing our fingers that this time maybe, just maybe, the 'morning' sickness will end sometime before the baby actually joins us!

I've actually really liked having a little secret. We told everyone so fast with Lily, I kinda just wanted to see how long we could go without telling people. Of course we are beyond excited. Baby is due the first week of May so the kiddos will be almost exactly 2 years apart.

Riding

So, we've been out of town for the last week and a half (yes, that's my excuse for being the world's lamest blogger). My family has been in Washington DC. Awesome? Awesome!! We actually didn't take a ton of pics but I'm working on getting those posted...expect them in the next few days.

We've also had some visitors here for the last two weeks...Dave's sister Lara and her three kids Elaina, Blake, and Bryant. It's been so fun for Lily to get to know her cousins and try desperately to keep up with the big kids!

This morning Blake wanted to come on my ride. I couldn't exactly pull him and Lily the whole way so I just took up them up and down the street a few times. They were so cute all cuddled up in the carrier together!

A lot going on but nothing happening

Hello. My name is Mikel. I supposedly write this blog...not that you would know it since I haven't posted practically all month.  This has been a weird month.  It seems like a lot has been going but feels like not much has actually happened. 

We finally got our taxes paid-which was a big stressor for us this year-and are now totally broke. 

We finally sold our car, but only after someone in the grocery store parking lot smashed our car door.

We finally got a new car. Good ol' Honda Accord. Dave might have cried a little when we sold our WRX.

We almost bought a condo. Almost. We changed our minds at the very last minute. Guess it just didn't feel quite right.

AND, last but not least, Dave has decided to go on a two week trip to South America with Dan's non-profit Imapct International WITHOUT me!! He leaves a week from today and I couldn't be more jealous!

Lily has been doing some cute new things. Don't worry, I'll be posting them soon.

Not a huge surprise

As usual, I'm having all sorts of issues with computers, stolen cameras, broken USB ports, random 3 day internet outages, returning missionaries (Dave's brother Dan), visiting families (Dave's sister Lara and her two kids), 5 day head colds, etc. which has been making my blogging life rather frustrating, difficult, and/or non-existent.

And all of these issues have dampened my blogging soul.  

But tonight Dave and I (Dave does design and I do code) have been working on redesigning my blog and I must say it has rejuvinated my down-trodden blogging spirit!  I feel inspired to try yet again to surpass the many obsticals.
