Easter!!

Easter definitely snuck up on me this year but we still had a great day!

We had Greg, my dad, and Leslie over for Easter Sunday brunch before church. It's always fun to have them over. And we ate LOTS...mmm! We made waffles, bacon, sausage, eggs. Dad and Leslie brought mixed fruit and cake! Sooo much good food.

Then we went to church where we heard some nice talks on the Atonement and I got to sing a really great song with the ward choir!

After church we headed straight back to the kitchen for our first attempt at a real Easter dinner. Dave was the master chef with me as sous chef! Here are this pictures of the final products:

Cream of Asparagus Soup
(It may not look overly appetizing...but it was by far the yummiest!)

[Dave insert: What Mikel so politely left out was the big mess I made out of the soup. It had to be put through a blender to make it, and not once but twice (with a change of clothes in between) the lid popped off and spat green cream of asparagus all over the kitchen. Two shirts later we were good to go!]

Salad

Red Potatoes

Peas

Ham and Pineapple

And Sarang and Kat brought yummy desserts from La Madeline (I forgot to take pictures which is unfortunate cause they were pretty...and yummy!)

We had a friend from Dave's work and his girlfriend (Sarang and Kat) over for dinner and games. It was great! We played Battle of the Sexes and Taboo...both games we rarely play but both were very fun!

Mikel, I'm so glad you blog-stalked me because I'd already done it to you and read all about your Paris trip! It looked amazing, I'm very jealous. I went to Europe on study abroad last summer, and I know how those 12 hour days of walking go, you're so awesome to do it pregnant!

Hey Mikel, this is a silly question, but is Lesley your Dad's girlfriend? Is this the one with the four kids? It's cool you all got together for Easter. We are still waiting here in Cleveland!?

For all you comment readers, what Mikel so politely left out was the big mess I made out of the soup. It had to be put through a blender to make it, and not once but twice (with a change of clothes inbetween) the lid popped off and spat green cream of asparugus all over the kitchen. Two shirts later we were good to go.
