Terrible Mother Already!

So I love to read about pregnancy and how Lily is developing and what is happening to my body. Of the many sources I use to read and learn (books, websites, magazines, etc), I also get daily emails. This is part of one I got earlier this week:

Look who's looking. Your baby's eyes — which have been closed for the past few months (so that the retina, the part of the eye that allows images to come into focus, could develop) — are now beginning to open. What this means is that your baby is able to see what's going on now (unfortunately the view in your uterus isn't all that exciting). But do try this at home for kicks (baby's that is): Shine a flashlight at your stomach. Your baby might kick in response (as in: "Get that light out of my eyes!").

Oddly enough I actually keep a flashlight on my night stand...I bet you can figure out what I did last night!
Yup! Well, my flashlight isn't exactly this big, it's pretty small actually, but it worked! Lily was going crazy kicking and squirming all over!! In fact, I got kinda scared...I started thinking "what if I really have an alien with a major aversion to light in my belly instead of a baby??" I was pretty sure it was about to burst out of my stomach at any minute. Yes, it was late...and dark.

Dave says I was being mean by teasing Lily...I have to admit...I don't even sorta feel bad!
