Another one for Dave

26...27...28? We're not really sure with Dave anymore! This year we celebrated with a quiet dinner at home. Artichoke appetizers, kibosh squash and coconut soup with a corn relish, and a mascarpone buttetcream cake with red wine mixed berries! Yes, I made all that from scratch without Dave the master chef's help! It was quite the stretch for me but I think Dave liked it...and that's really the point right!

We sure are grateful that Dave was born! Can't imagine life without him!

Fathers' Day

Here are just a couple pictures of the two best looking guys I know! Dave is such a good sport to let me dress them up in matching outfits for Fathers' Day!  haha

I am constantly floored by how great a father Dave is. Anyone who has ever seen him with his kids can attest to the fact that he actually totally likes them--and they're pretty smitten with him, too! I'm pretty sure he would say that the best part of his day is the time he gets to spend playing and being an absolute goof with them!  I am so grateful to have such an incredible parenting companion...it really makes all the difference in our family. We have been blessed with such great fathers in our lives!

Hard working daddy

Whoa. Long time no blog...not much overly exciting has been going on. Nothing really out of the ordinary. So all I have to post are a bunch of pictures of everyday things which I of course think are to die for adorable..but that's just because I think Lily is to die for adorable. Unfortunately, all the pictures for the next few posts come from my iPhone so the quality is pretty bad...c'est la vie.

First, a few weeks ago Lily found a pair of Dave's shoes and his hat and decided to pretend she was her daddy. She put the stuff on and headed out the door saying "I'm daddy and I'm going to work. Love you."

Daddy's Burt-day

So Dave is one year older. For anyone who's counting, that 26 big ones. I'm ashamed to admit that I don't have any pictures of his birthday. I've been a major slacker when it comes to toting my camera around these days. I'll go ahead and make that an early new years resolution. We kept the festivities pretty low key since Dave was feverishly studying for the GRE. We did dinner with the Parkinson's on Saturday night and a little bit of Gateway shopping. And we did family dinner at his parents on Sunday.

Anyway, I thought I'd do a little photo montage of Dave's 25th year. If you notice almost all of these are of Dave and Lily...proof that Dave is the best dad in the world. He adores his little girl and she can't get enough of him, they're inseparable.

I'm so grateful to have Dave in my life. He constantly amazes me. I married myself a darn good man, that's all there is too it!

A much needed mini vacay

This weekend we were fortunate enough to get the chance to stay at Dave's Grandma's house down in St. George.  It was SO nice to have a little get away.  We just relaxed, did a little shopping, a little, In N Out eating, a little Nelson's Custard eating, a little napping, a little red rock exploring, and a little Thai food eating (best Thai food I've ever had)!

Lil doing a little exploring in the red rock caves.

A family pic.  I know it's not very good (actually I think Dave looks hot) but it's the only one we have...ever!

The Love of my Life

It was a busy weekend.  Why?  Cause the love of my life turned 25.  We spent most of the weekend celebrating the momentous occasion.  Friday night we went to Tuscany for a romantic (albeit freezing) dinner.  Mushroom and truffle ravioli for me, meatloaf and mashed potatoes for the birthday boy.

Saturday we had pumpkin pancakes for breakfast.  And opened a few presents.  Then, because of an unexpected turn of events, we headed to the BYU vs. Utah game.  While the outcome of that game wasn't a very happy birthday surprise, it sure was fun to be there!

After the game we went and paid a little visit to the Parkinsons to share in a little birthday/anniversary fun.

Then Sunday night Dave cooked his own birthday dinner--he likes his own cooking better!  He made fabulous french onion soup and roast beef sandwiches, with a chocolate pecan pie for dessert.  All-in-all, I think he had a pretty good birthday.  I guess if you really want to know you'd have to ask him!

I am so grateful the Lord brought Dave and I together.  I am so grateful that Dave chose me.   I didn't even know that there was someone so right and perfect out there.   There couldn't be a better, more adoring father.  Dave is wise, loving, passionate, generous, driven, and just wonderful.  Love you, babe.

As previously mentioned...

Yesterday was the Lil's bday.  And being the thoughtful daddy that he is, Dave brought home a little gift to commemorate.  So we decided to do some wrapping and let her have at it.

Are we sensing a pattern?
On to number 2...

Happy, drooly baby!  Thanks daddy!

TOTW

So I've wanted to get Lily laughing on video for a long time but I just haven't been able to get her to cooperate (she's rather camera shy).  But we finally got this:

I wish we were able to get more but it seems like as soon as she sees the camera she get's all shy!

Halloween Day

On Halloween Day, Lily and I went and visited Dave at the office. Here are a few pics.

Tinkerbell trying to fly!

Then we headed over to the Utah County offices to cast our votes.  Long line...But everyone was smitten by Peter Pan cuddling with his little Tinkerbell!

Tink taking a little rest after a long day of being adored by all!
