Monday in Paris

Monday morning Dave and I headed straight to the Pompidou for our modern art fix. I don't really know anything about art and most of the modern art stuff is a bit of a mystery to me but Dave loves it and it's fun to walk around and have him give me his interpretation of everything!

This was a whole room where the walls, floor, and ceiling all looked like this (it's all 3d too).

This was a copy out of a math textbook. I think this one spoke to Dave more than any of the other ones!

Orange Rhino-one of the many inexplicable 'works of art'.
After about an hour in the museum my fingers started to swell up so I was trying to elevate them-Dave just thought it made me look really excited about the crazy spaghetti painting.

The fountain outside the Pompidou. Ya just gotta kiss in front of the big red lips!

The facade of Notre Dame. Dave found a bunch of these great mp3 audio tours that he downloaded to his Blackberry. One of them was for Notre Dame-very interesting.
We're also pretty sure that this tree with the flowers was the only living plant life in the city!

After Notre Dame we walked around the Latin Quarter for a little while checking out the fun shops and trying to reservations to a jazz club. Then we headed over to the Champs-Elysees for some more walking/shopping.

Shots in the middle of the street in front of the Arc de Triumph! Then we went inside and after a long day of walking Dave made his big fat pregnant wife RUN up all those stairs se we could see this...
...the hourly sparkling of the Eiffel Tour.
After I caught my breath, and was no longer in danger of passing out, the view was worth it!

Then we went to the Haagen Daas on on the Champs-Elysees and had a big huge crepe, banana, carmel, ice-cream...the best possible way to end the day!

What a fun trip! Did you get to use your French? When I went a couple of years ago, I was amazed at how much French I actually remembered from Mr. Burnah's class!

Also, I was just wondering how the Kindle is treating you. I was thinking about getting one, but I'm not sure. Also, you should join www.goodreads.com. You can share recommendations for books with friends. It's really fun. I just joined the other day and would like some input on good books from you.
