So I guess we're going to Paris!

Another 'mommy resolution' of mine was to take a trip with Dave before the baby is born. I've been trying for a few weeks to research and book a trip to Mexico or the Caribbean, something close because Dave only wanted to have to take off a day or two. (We are saving up vacation days for important upcoming events)

Given certain time constraints, namely the growth in my belly, we really needed to book this trip this week, so Tuesday night I made Dave sit down with me and told him we couldn't get up until we had decided on something.

We spent hours and hours and hours and hours trying to find something that was going to work...something that was both cost effective and time effective. But we couldn't find anything. The flights that were within our price range were like 14 hours just to get to Mexico, and we live in Texas...Mexico is like 3 hours away. And since we were just trying to go somewhere for a long weekend, spending 14 hours traveling each way just doesn't make sense.

So, I was VERY frustrated and Dave kept telling me to look at Paris which was making me even more upset because you can't go to Paris for a long weekend either! The flights are also like 14 hours, not to mention the time change/jet lag.

So after like 4 or 5 hours of this I got frustrated and left for a few minutes and Dave got on and found flights to Paris for the same price as those long flights to Mexico...which is crazy cheap...so he was all excited but I was still upset because WE CAN'T GO TO PARIS FOR A LONG WEEKEND!

So he just said 'Fine, I'll take the whole week off!'

But I was still all worked up because if I knew he was willing to take a whole week off I wouldn't have wasted SO much time researching Mexico and the Caribbean and trying to make the dumb weekend work!

Anyway, after I calmed down and Dave confirmed with his bosses that he actually could take the whole week off, we booked it! And we're leaving on Saturday! And I'm really really excited!

You are going to have so much fun! I can't wait to hear and see all about it when you get back. Someday I will go to Paris too, and then we can chat about it. I love that you are going before the baby comes, because believe me, it is near impossible after baby! We haven't been on vacation in almost five years!! Yikes. I'm so excited for you guys. Be safe and have fun!!

Dennis and I went to Paris two years ago and we loved it!! There is so much culture, you will be enchanted by the art museums and architect!! We had read "The DiVinci Code" just prior to our trip and as it happened, the movie opened that night in Paris at a theater near The Lueve. (can't remember how to spell it) Anyway we found out it was in English, so we went! Fun times!!
